The Disappearance of Andrew Escobar

11 year old Andrew Escobar was last seen in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on June 25. 2023. Authorities believe he was abducted by his noncustodial mother during an overnight visit.

Disappearance

On June 25, 2023, Andrew Escobar was last seen in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Authorities believe he was abducted by his mother, Miriam Felix-Delgado.

Andrew’s father, Juan Escobar, had just been given custody of his son, and Andrew disappeared while staying overnight with his mother.

A felony warrant for custodial interference was issued for Miriam on August 21, 2023.

Investigation

Andrew’s father hired a private investigator, who found out Miriam has since gotten married to a retired state police officer and moved near the Fort Collins area.

“What I never even imagined in my life I would be without two years of seeing him,” Andrew’s father told KOAT, “having traveled to different cities, looking for him, putting up his picture on poster boards and car washes, anywhere I can, you know, following up on tips of where it might be.”

Police say Andrew may be in northern Colorado, specifically the Greeley or Evans area with his mother, Mirian Felix.

Andrew may go by the name Oliver Shelton, and Miriam may go by the name Sophia Shelton.

School records for Andrew have not been found, meaning he may be enrolled in online classes or being home-schooled.

The US Marshals Service are offering a $3,500 reward for the arrest of Felix-Delgado.

Appearance

Andrew has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tie-dyed shirt and black baseball shorts.

Miriam was born on November 15, 1983. She has light brown hair and brown eyes.
