19 year old Kyla Porter was last seen in Holiday, Florida on February 15, 2008. She disappeared after telling her sister she was at a party and would home in about an hour.
Background
Kyla Porter was born on October 27, 1988 to mother Teresa Ahrens.
At the time of her disappearance, Kyla was living with her older sister, Lynn Porter, in a house on Blossom Lake Drive in Holiday, Florida, a small town north of Clearwater. She had recently moved back from Georgia to be with her family after her fiance was jailed on a drug charge.
Kyla’s family says she had left for a few days at a time before, but never without staying in touch with them. They fear that she may have met with foul play, especially since she left all of her belongings behind at home.
Disappearance
At 10:30 pm on February 15, 2008, Kyla Porter called her older sister (who she was living with at the time) and told her she was at a party and that she would be home in about on hour. It is unknown where she was at the time of the call.
Kyla never returned home and hasn’t been heard from since.
After two weeks of not hearing from Kyla, her mother called the police to report her missing. Her mother says the police didn’t take her seriously since Kyla had left before, and told her to give it another week before they’d make a report.
Investigation
Kyla Porter’s belongings, including her purse, clothing and identification, were all left behind at home.
Kyla’s mother called a friend Kyla said she was with at the party, but the friend told her she hadn’t seen Kyla for weeks and hung up after becoming irritated.
The phone Kyla called her sister from was unable to be traced, as it was a prepaid phone that only stored 10 numbers. By the time Kyla was reported missing the information had been deleted.
Investigators talked to Kyla’s family, friends and last known associates, but say no clues as to her whereabouts were found.
There have been rumors that the party Kyla attended the night she disappeared was held in Moon Lake, a swamp area about 15 miles from her home, but this has never been confirmed.
There are no known suspects or persons if interest in Kyla’s case.

The location of Kyla Porter, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown.
Her case is classified as endangered missing and remains unsolved.
Appearance
White female born on October 27, 1988. Kyla has brown hair, brown eyes, stands 5’4 and weighs 125 pounds.
She has several tattoos; two stars on her chest, a fairy on the back of her right shoulder, and two skulls inside a heart with flames with the word ‘unbreakable’ on her lower back.
Kyla was last seen wearing flip flops and possibly some costume jewelry.
